Week 16 : Ozric’s Marbles

Some nights feel like someone unscrewed the lid on the universe and let a little stardust leak in. This was one of those.

Isaac Hadden—guitarist, traveler, probable alien—dropped in from Asheville with a fretboard full of metaphysical riddles. He played like a man who’d seen too much and decided to dance about it. Melchi Kpade held down the keys with a philosopher’s calm, sending out chords like weather systems. Kassem Williams played the drums like he was breaking a curse.

By the second set, the walls had softened. Chris Reichmeyer brought a Brazilian pulse on the pandeiro. A UNCSA student named Michael (?) appeared like a vision and left us all blinking. And Chaisaray Schenck showed up just in time to steer the last tune straight through a wormhole.

The night was loud, joyful, unpredictable. The crowd was electric. No plants were harmed in the making of this session, though one did seem to be smiling.
